On some days, you have to set yourself apart and just allow God to deal with you. I call it “being your zone.” Of course, many are going to view your quietness how they want it. But it doesn’t matter….it is “your” zone. I welcome God into my zone at any time. He knows that. I need HIM in my zone. But I know that Satan hates that and will bring every kind of irritating thing against me. At times, I literally want to yell out, “JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!” But yelling is considered indecent. So I simply take quietness into my zone. Some people will have no respect for your zone; some do things unintentionally to disrupt your zone. This is why I have to take God into my zone with me. I thank Him for the bridling of the tongue! When you are working full-time (which is where most of your hours are spent) and have children at home, it is difficult at times to find a place of peace….so sometimes, you just have to MAKE the time. If I have to work in the midst of turmoil or busyness, I will have to enter my zone to find a sense of peace or to meditate on God. You will be amazed at how quickly you can pick up uneasy habits from your surroundings…..discontentment…gossip…unhappiness…bitterness, etc. If you feel an ounce of weakness, a negative surrounding will devour you. So it is good to just set yourself apart and retreat into your zone…with the Lord where you develop strength and wisdom. “When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself. Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions. Wait for hope to appear” (Lamentations 3:28-29 MSG). Be Blessed. –S.L.M.
