Allow me to be frank and just say…..sometimes we bring difficult situations upon ourselves. We end up on a yellow brick road confronting all types of distasteful stuff. All we have to do is simply stop and acknowledge the Lord. He has all of the power and guidance we need. Dorothy (in the Wizard of Oz) had the power to go back to Kansas the entire time but didn’t realize it. She ended up on a yellow brick road confronting some of everything – a scarecrow with no brain…a lion that was a coward….a tin man who had no heart….and gee whiz…those ugly flying flying monkeys! That yellow brick road even led Dorothy to someone who posed as a wizard! To make a long story short, when we get into difficult situations, we just have to stop and acknowledge God…call out to Him. We need to stay off of that yellow brick road in life because it will lead us to horrific things and even more difficult situations. Dorothy’s power lay in her red shoes; our power lies in the Lord. We just have to stop and seek Him. He will meet us at the place where we stand at that moment and guide us to where we need to be. Of course, it might not be Kansas, but it will be a peaceful place in Him and far away from horrific things like those ugly flying monkeys in that movie! BE ENCOURAGED! -S.L.M.
Psalm 25:4-5 “Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD; point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.”
