Relationships are considered “special” to me. I have had my share of bad ones. I don’t profess to be a woman who knows everything but I do know something about love. I know that love is good because it comes from above. God is love. We, here on earth, make the mistake of thinking that love is bad and love makes you do wrong. To me, that is not true. To me, it is “people” that abuse love. When we say we love someone, we should be able to love them with all that God has instilled in us. When you love someone with a God kind of love, that’s real love. This is the kind of love that is needed in relationships today. With this kind of love, understanding intervenes. Compassion intervenes. Respect intervenes. Honesty intervenes. Trust intervenes. A true connection between two people is established. If that relationship is in God’s will, nothing or no one can disconnect it. When true love is present, all of those great things from God is present. When all of these great things are present, disagreements don’t seem to blow out of proportion. Those bad days don’t cause shakiness in the relationship. And most of all, the two of you acknowledge God for how great He is. The two of you continuously pray together. To me, this is the kind of love that makes a relationship so special. –S.L.M.

WordPress friends, what makes a relationship “special” to you???

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”

 Love is Patient

  1. I love the ‘message’ translation of that scripture. It’s so sad that genuine love is hard to find these days. People go into relationships for what they stand to benefit from it. ‘love doesn’t put itself before others’. Great post.
